Hi, I’m Jane Sherwood, a certified hypnotist and NLP practitioner based in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. I work with clients across the U.S. and internationally through Zoom, helping with phobias, anxiety, and personal growth. I also offer in-person past-life regression for clients who want to heal from past-life karma or trauma, or who are just curious about who they were in a past life.
My path to becoming a Certified Hypnotist was not a straight line. For over 30 years, I worked as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, including 26 years of uniformed service: six years as a U.S. Army officer and twenty years as an officer in the United States Public Health Service (USPHS), where I ultimately retired as a Captain (O6). Throughout those decades, my work was primarily behind the scenes. I conducted tests, managed labs, and oversaw a rural health clinic with five medical providers, two dentists, and a total staff of 64 personnel, ensuring the data and operations relied on by patients functioned effectively. While this was meaningful work, it often lacked the direct connection to individuals that I now find in providing hypnosis solutions for personal growth.
After a while, that gap started to bother me. I wanted to do work that helped people directly, in real time, where I could see the difference being made. I spent a few years exploring various hypnosis solutions, searching for what would truly resonate with me. Throughout this journey, I tried different paths, but ultimately, becoming a Certified Hypnotist was the one that fit and offered the potential for personal growth and satisfaction.
I have always believed in the power of the mind. Decades of reading scientific research, where the placebo effect kept appearing as a factor researchers had to consider, have taught me that the mind's influence on the body is real, measurable, and reproducible. As a Certified Hypnotist, I've discovered that hypnosis solutions build on that same mind-body connection in a deliberate, structured way. It serves as the most direct tool I have found for translating my beliefs into actionable practices for personal growth.
Expanding into past life regression lets me help clients explore the metaphysical realm. This is a side of my life I have always believed in, because I have been fortunate enough to receive personal premonitions throughout my life. It’s a gift I’ve come to understand is not that common, but it’s also not as uncommon as many believe when people open up about their gifts and experiences. My premonitions are usually about future events or guidance messages, but two of my dreams were of past lives, and I’ve been able to verify both to some degree. That’s why I strongly believe in past lives and why I want to share this gift with others.
I am a Certified Hypnotist who completed hypnosis and NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) certification through the Mike Mandel Hypnosis Academy and past life regression training through the Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique program. My credentials are recognized by the International Certification Board of Clinical Hypnotherapy (ICBCH) and the International Hypnosis Association (IHA). I am building my practice around hypnosis solutions for conditions with a strong evidence base, including anxiety and phobias. In addition to these areas, I can provide hypnosis solutions for personal growth goals such as enhancing self-confidence, improving self-esteem, removing limiting beliefs, promoting weight loss, and boosting productivity.
Beyond my training as a Certified Hypnotist, I bring a scientist's mindset and a holistic healer's intent to this work. While I don't promise miracles, I do believe that positive change is possible, often more than people expect.
